Described below are the facilities and activities currently available on site;
The multi award winning River Course designed by Doug Carrick opened fully in September 2007. The course affords dramatic views over the Humber Valley and Deer Lake. Its layout, with gently rolling terrain, generous fairways and undulating greens gives experienced golfers a welcome challenge yet also provides an enjoyable round for novices. Several holes are played alongside the tranquil Humber River or the shores of Deer Lake. A number of natural ponds dot the course and natural streams meander through it. Breathtaking views can be enjoyed from most holes with the signature hole being the tenth where the tee is located 180 feet above the fairway and enjoys a long view down the valley.
Children's Play AreaLocated next to the Beach House is a flat lawn area equipped with a range of play equipment including jungle gyms, slides and climbing frames for the use of young guests.
Beach House Bar and Restaurant
The Beach House Bar and Restaurant which is located on the shore of Deer Lake has not reopened after the Resort emerged from bankruptcy. While we continue to hope that The Beach House reopens as it was once the social hub of the Resort, we have no indications that this is likely to happen in the forseeable future. As soon as we have any further information we will, of course, amend the website to make the information known.
Eagles Perch Clubhouse
The Eagles Perch Clubhouse is perched high above the resort and offers panoramic views up and down the Humber Valley. In addition to the golf Pro-shop which offers a range of amenity items for sale the Eagles Perch offers a bar which serves a range of bar snacks during the golfing season. Please check for oppenning hours as these vary in different times of the season. The bar in the Eagles Perch Club House is open during the golf season offering light meals and bar snacks from late morning until early evening. Operating dates and opening hours will be publicized each season once they are known. The comfortable bar area offers comfortable seating for a relaxing break and provides spectacular views up the Humber Valley across Deer Lake and down the valley across the rich agricultural lands between Little Rapids and Steady Brook.
The Eagles Perch also offers a large multi-purpose space which can be used for conferences, weddings, and other functions. Please check with Humber Valley Resort for details.
BeachBelow the Beach House is an extensive sandy beach around a shallow bay which warms up early in the summer and provides an ideal swimming place. Above the beach is a flat sandy area above the high water mark which provides an ideal area for relaxing or playing beach games.
The "Elements Wellness Spa" is located on the second floor of 1 Lakeside Drive, just inside the entrance to the Resort. It offers a full range of spa treatments and hairdressing services. The spa tends to book up so early booking of your treatments is advisable in order to avoid disappointment.
