Humber Valley Resort Corporation, the developers and original operators of Humber Valley Resort were declared bankrupt in December 2008. As assets are sold off and the resort begins the process of emerging from bankruptcy there remains some uncertainty as to exactly which resort facilities will be operational for winter 2009 and summer 2010. The facilities described below are those which we hope will be available to our guests for the comming year but please check with us as the season develops to confirm what will be available.
Golf Course
The multi award winning River Course designed by Doug Carrick opened fully in September 2007. The course affords dramatic views over the Humber Valley and Deer Lake. Its layout, with gently rolling terrain, generous fairways and undulating greens gives experienced golfers a welcome challenge yet also provides an enjoyable round for novices. Several holes are played alongside the tranquil Humber River or the shores of Deer Lake. A number of natural ponds dot the course and natural streams meander through it. Breathtaking views can be enjoyed from most holes with the signature hole being the tenth where the tee is located 180 feet above the fairway and enjoys a long view down the valley.
Beach House Bar and Restaurant
The Beach House Bar and Restaurant, as its name implies, is located on the banks of Deer Lake and offers extensive decking areas stepping down from the main level to the beach itself. The building is the social hub of the resort and offers both a bar and casual dining area where guests can relax and eat.Children's Play Area
Located next to the Beach House is a flat lawn area equipped with a range of play equipment including jungle gyms, slides and climbing frames for the use of young guests.Beach
Below the Beach House is an extensive sandy beach around a shallow bay which warms up early in the summer and provides an ideal swimming place. Above the beach is a flat sandy area above the high water mark which provides an ideal area for relaxing or playing beach games.Spa
The new "Elements Wellness Spa" opened in December 2009. It is located upstairs in 1 Lakeside Drive and offers a full range of spa treatments.
The spa tends to book up so early booking of your treatments is advisable in order to avoid disappointment.
