Boxing Day has arrived and Marble Mountain has opened on Schedule, albeit with a limited range of facilities available. We have not had a lot of snow as yet but the crew on the hill took advantage of a prolonged cold spell before Christmas to make a ton of snow and as a result have the high speed chair to the top of the mountain and 6 runs open for the start of the season.
Both local cross country ski parks (Blomidon and Pasadena) are also open so the winter activities are off to a prompt start promising a long and happy winter for those who love the winter outdoors. For the snowmobilers among us there is also good news, Marble Zip Tours will have a fleet of around 60 sleds available for rental right from the base of Marble Mountain making it even easier to get out onto the trails. Weather permitting you can also access the groomed trail network right from your Lodge on Humber Valley Resort.
Coming up later in the winter are the full range of winter carnivals throughout the region promising fun and excitement for all the family. Also running again this winter will the Snow West winter festival which made a successful debut last winter. This year’s dates are 22/23 and 24 March, 2012. We will publish more detail about all these events as the planning firms up and the information is made available. Start planning now and book early to avoid being disappointed.
